Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)

A registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) is an unlicensed practitioner who is allowed to provide psychotherapy under the direct supervision of a licensed professional. At Culver Psychotherapy, our AMFTs have completed their Masters degrees and 2+ years of graduate level training and clinical experience, including a year-long internship with direct clinical service.

Though our AMFTs are only a year or less away from a license to practice independently as Marriage and Family Therapists, they work under the direct supervision of Dr. Rachel Brosamle (CA license: PSY 28443). Per state requirements, AMFTs meet weekly with Dr. Brosamle to supervise their cases and provide additional training. Clients can benefit from this model as there are multiple therapists addressing their case and assuring the quality of the services they are receiving.

Fee

Associate Marriage and Family Therapists are able to provide therapy at a lower fee than licensed psychologists. At Culver Psychotherapy our AMFTs charge $175 per session. Sessions are a standard 50 minutes.
