Lauren M. Galier, M.A., AMFT
Lauren Galier received her Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s GSEP program and completed her year-long practicum internship at Child Guidance Center, INC, in Santa Ana, California. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication and Dramatic Arts from The University of California, Davis. Lauren has training and experience providing evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, trauma, and implementing exposure-therapy with children and adults. Lauren is currently a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#127741) directly supervised by Dr. Rachel Brosamle (PSY 28443).
Understanding that starting therapy can feel exciting but also overwhelming, Lauren strives to create a safe environment using genuine authenticity, warmth, humor, and empathy. She uses a psychodynamic framework that explores the client’s attachment and relational frameworks. From this foundation, Lauren tailors therapy to the individual by also integrating narrative, feminist, and person-centered modalities. Her work focuses on processing past experiences and patterns in order to better understand one’s current context. Her compassionate and collaborative style fosters a safe, non-judgemental environment in which clients can be vulnerable and experience growth.
Lauren is passionate about working with individuals struggling with emotion regulation, big life changes, stress management, depression, and interpersonal difficulties.
